After receiving her first leading role in a drama earlier this year for “Passionate Love”, Seohyun will now be making her musical debut in “Moon That Embraces the Sun”. Seohyun has been cast for the musical’s female lead and will play the role of Yeonwoo. Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Seohyun’s labelmate from SM Entertainment, has also been cast in the musical and will be playing the male lead role, King Lee Hwon. The musical will begin in January of next year.

“Moon That Embraces the Sun” was recently adapted as a drama last year in 2012. Starring Kim Soohyun as King Lee Hwon and Han Ga-in as Yeonwoo, the 20-episode historical drama proved to be extremely popular and won multiple awards.

“Prime Minister and I” has revealed a character profile for Yoona’s role in the upcoming romantic comedy, which is set to begin airing on December 9th. The drama will revolve around a country’s prime minister, Kwon Yul, played by Lee Bumsoo, and a young female reporter, Nam Dajung, played by Yoona.

Nam Dajung

cast_Yoona

Age 28, a reporter for a third rate newspaper,
Covering ‘relationship’ scandal news.

A quick glance at her makes you think she’s smart, but a second look, and she’s clumsy.
Another look would make you think she’s absurd, but makes you laugh when you turn around.
She once dreamed of being an author like Jane Austen.
But in a world where literature doesn’t ‘feed’ you, this is a far away dream that she doesn’t dare dream about.
In the end, with the writing skills that swept writing contests,
And photography skills that she trained as a fangirl for H.O.T.,
She became a reporter of relationship scandals. It doesn’t matter if people look down on her,
Saying that a ‘third rate paparazzi’ isn’t even a reporter.
For her father, who is in a nursing home because of his dementia,
She must earn money like crazy.
Her father’s dream is to walk her down the aisle at her wedding… but she doesn’t have time to build a relationship
When she’s busy digging through other peoples’ love lives.
Thinking only about breaking news and bonus pay, working day and night digging through Kwon Yul’s relationship rumors,
She unexpectedly gets herself into the the middle of them.
Dajung, who is ‘accused’ against her will of climbing the social ladder,
from a third class reporter to the wife of the Prime Minister!
When will she get rid of this unwelcome title of ‘Cinderella’?

Girls’ Generation’s very own Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun took part in the annual “Letters of Angels” campaign, which brings attention to and supports domestic adoptions. This year’s photoshoot can be found in the December issue of “Elle” magazine, which also includes a separate pictorial with Sooyoung. Tiffany was featured in “Letters of Angels” back in 2011, and after working with her, project photographer Cho Seihon said, “Tiffany doesn’t just have a pretty face, but she’s a star with a pretty heart as well. After that, I look at Tiffany from a different light.” The translated messages the three ladies left for the 2013 campaign as well as commentary can be read below.

Taeyeon: Soft, pretty, and cute Eun-yi~ It was fun meeting you today. Continue to grow healthy. Grow up to be even more prettier than Girls’ Generation unnies. I love you

Tiffany: Dear Eun-yi. Grow up to be pretty, healthy, and brightly, and meet your unnies again. Always pray

Seohyun: We spent a short, but happy time with our lovable Eun-yi~ I won’t forget this precious relationship~ Grow up to be pretty and healthy, and more admirably than your unnies~! I love you

Young angels waiting to be adopted, after being separated from adolescent ‘single parents’ who were not able to stand on their own, met with 10 of this generation’s hottest idol teams. The reason why photographer Cho Seihon called for these angels to stand in front of the camera was to open people’s eyes to the value of life and show that there are things that need our warm attention. Cho Seihon’s eleventh ‘Letters of Angels’ story, headed with an ‘innocent’ theme similar to that of idols’ eyes, will be exhibited early through ‘Elle’.

Sooyoung was featured in the upcoming December issue of “Elle” magazine in a photoshoot with her three dogs. To go along with a stunning photoshoot, Sooyoung wrote her own thoughts about her relationship with her pets and how helping those in need has given her happiness. Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun’s feautre in the “Letters of Angels” campaign is part of next month’s “Elle” magazine as well.

“Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung and Comptoir des Contonniers (editor’s note: the fashion brand Sooyoung is wearing in the photoshoot) will become supporters, and prepared contributions will be used with care to help women and children who have been faced with hardships.”

My love trio. The three dogs, Suri, Mori, and Cherry. The eldest, Suri, is coy, and you have to chase her around trying to feed her. But she is a cutie who only knows her owner. The second eldest, Mori, likes toys so much that all the ones brought in become Mori’s. The youngest, Cherry, was left at an animal hospital and was about to be sent to a shelter. My mom brought her home and she became a member of our family. The happiness given by dogs. Their existence alone is a great happiness. I’m happiest spending time with Suri, Mori, and Cherry on the sofa at home. So when I don’t have schedules, I almost never go out. If I go overseas for a few days, they look out of breath, greeting me aggressively. A different happiness, ‘sharing’. Through my father, who is active as the chairman for the Korea Retinitis Pigmentosa Society, I naturally learned that charity and contributions are necessary. It’s a common saying that you will become happy by sharing, but you can’t really know the meaning behind it until you experience it yourself. I can’t express in words the happiness felt from seeing people being happy over the littlest help, or the letters I read from kids I sponsor. People I want to tell, “I love you.” To the ‘SONE volunteers’ and fans who are doing lots of kind deeds in place of Girls’ Generation! They donate to many places and periodically do volunteer work under Girls’ Generation’s name. I had the opportunity to meet some of those people, and I could see their warm hearts. “I love you all!”

TV Daily: Are you having fun filming ‘Prime Minister and I’? It’s yet to be broadcast; did you have any good dreams?
Yoona: There aren’t many weeks left until the first broadcast and I’m looking forward to it and my heart is fluttering as it gets near the date. It is a bit burdensome as well, but the mood on set is enjoyable and fun. I wasn’t able to have a dream, but I want to have a ‘daebak’ dream (translator’s note: dream of success) a day or two before the broadcast. (laughs)

TV Daily: You took on the role of the reporter Nam Dajung, who is full of gaps and holes (translator’s note: someone who is a bit clumsy). What is a ‘transformation point’ that you think was important?
Yoona: Unlike roles I’ve played thus far, there are off-the-wall and bright sides to this one. There are a lot of similarities with me. So I tried my best to show my usual self naturally. Because I change from being a reporter into a Mrs., there is one transformation in the drama. In order to set that change, I tried to add emphasis on natural hairstyles and outfits with dark tones and activewear. I created the difference as a Mrs. with two pieces and coat-like outfits, with straight hair.

TV Daily: How did it feel getting the sсript for ‘Prime Minister and I’ for the first time in a while?
Yoona: I had a lot of fun reading it. (laughs) I always wanted to try the genre of a romantic comedy and the sсript had a mood that I had in mind, so I had fun reading it. The character of Nam Dajung is similar to one that I’ve been searching for. I’ve been looking for a character that is brighter, easy-going, and tomboyish, unlike what I’ve shown, so this hit the nail on the head.
